About Us

The Eveleth Heritage Committee was created in 1997 under the umbrella of the now-defunct Eveleth Area Chamber of Commerce.  In 2003, the committee became a bureau of the new Laurentian Chamber of Commerce, which serves the Quad Cities area.

In 2019, the organization incorporated as a 501(c)(3) organization and was renamed the Eveleth Heritage Society.

Our mission is "to preserve, interpret, and promote Eveleth’s unique culture, history, and heritage."

  • Historical booklet about Eveleth's churches (2003)
  • Souvenir blankets depicting Eveleth landmarks (2004)
  • Scholarship awards to Eveleth-Gilbert High School students (discontinued)
  • Assisting with a special Mesabi Community Band concert at the Eveleth Auditorium (May 4, 2017)
  • Historical marker at the site of Eveleth's first building (October 2017)
  • Historical marker at Resurrection Catholic Church (2018)
  • Redesigned historical blankets (2018)
