Dick's Diner was a popular restaurant and hangout located on Fayal Road west of Bridgeman's (now Poor Gary's Pizza). Owners Richard (Dick) and Vera Brown operated the diner in a converted Mesaba Electric Railway streetcar from the 1930s to the 1960s.

Dick's Diner chili recipe, from the kitchen of Dick and Vera Brown
1 lb. ground beef
1 onion chopped fine
Celery chopped fine
1/2 green pepper chopped fine
1 can tomato paste/optional
1 small can tomato juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Beans (any kind)
Chili powder to taste
1 can tomatoes, squeezed
Red pepper
Water as cooking
Dash of vinegar
Dash of sugar
Little bit of relish/optional
